Diamond Embroidery

April 11, 2019

So, one of my many hobbies is Diamond Embroidery. It’s where an image is printed on a canvas using a color code system. It’s similar to color or paint by numbers. After the image is printed, and the canvas is dry, a sticky film is placed over the image. Now, this film only covers the image where you will place the faceted diamond. So, you would either have a complete coverage or just a part of the image. They call the coverage a drill, so it’s either a full drill or partial drill. And you can get round or square diamonds. Of course they aren’t really diamonds, they’re injected plastic gems based off of the DNC color chart.

It’s actually the most relaxing art & craft project I have come across. And it’s not super expensive. I’ve purchased the projects from, Wish, Amazon, and a couple other sites. The cool thing about this is, you can take actual pictures that you have taken and have them digitized and converted into a full drill image. The companies that offer this supply you with the canvas, gems, and tools to complete your project. I haven’t tried it yet, but I have some pics I want done, so watch for them, and more about this fun hobby.
